Bio and Platform: Alyah Raygoza, is a Public Health Major with a minor in Spanish Interpretation.
A little about her: She grew up in Reno/ Sparks and has always loved UNR, and the idea of being a first generation student. But the struggle of finding resources with no sense of direction has really impacted her.
When she started her University journey she would just go to class and go home, and she found herself with a feeling of isolation. Like she was missing out on something. So she joined a Multicultural Sorority, and every club she could find a passion in.
But still she finds herself searching to truly help and make a difference in the College of Public Health Community. She has loved every program she's seen and every event that has brought her to find that sense of community.
But she would love to help increase and diversify the outreach that ASUN can do. And help create that same sense of community in others. She would greatly encourage to continue things that ASUN former Senators have put in place but she would love to further develop and bring a bit of new perspective from someone that grew up in the Hispanic community in Reno and has seen and experienced first hand the struggles that Public Health students experience trying to find their way in such a big College.
She wants to create change for the better, from within the UNR system that a lot of students can get lost in.
