Bio and Platform: As a Senator, Juliana strives to present equal opportunity for all who wish to join the health industry by increasing financial aid for those who need it. No one should have to put a pause on their dreams because of their financial situation, and her goal is to make sure that everyone has the opportunities they need to make them all come true. Along the same lines, it can stall students’ graduation times immensely if they are put on waitlists for their required classes. It is unjust to tell students that it’s okay if they graduate late just because they couldn’t get into a certain class that had a greater number of students than seats. Juliana hopes to change this by opening up more classes and making sure that every student has the opportunity to stay on track, regardless of their grade level. As incredible as ASUN is as an organization, it is a great shame that only a handful of students know or care about it. More events and involvement need to be geared towards the students’ specific interests so that they feel as though they are a part of something bigger than themselves, without feeling obligated to actually join ASUN. Just like everything in life, the greatest successes require a team. This is why Juliana not only wants to lead by example, but also wants to make sure to build a well established and caring community within the College of Public Health, ASUN, and the University of Nevada, Reno as a whole.
