Senator for Community Health ScienceEmail: firstname.lastname@example.org
John Kermanshahi is a Community Health Science major with aspirations of attending paramedic school and becoming a municipal firefighter. As a first-generation American from the Southern California, he strives for perfection and constant self-improvement. His freshman year, John went on to be an ASUN Legislative Intern for the 87th session. Through the mentorship of then-Senator Hayley Collins and Vice President Keegan Murphy, he understood the value of the student body and the importance student government has on making that voice heard. Since then, John has become a member of the Zeta Psi Fraternity, and is currently the President of the Iota Nu Chapter. He also actively sits on the executive board of the Reno Independent Interfraternity Council as the Vice President of Community Relations. Through partnerships with organizations like the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation and the Professional Fire Firefighters of Nevada, John had promoted philanthropic events, without University support, to bring our Nevada community closer to its locality. He intends to bridge that gap, and engage more students to connect with the surrounding area, while utilizing clubs and organizations, on and off campus, to achieve that goal. Because of his background, John wants students to push the boundaries of what students can do to overcome challenges, and change our University for the better. He believes having a representative who is experienced, respectful, and qualified is what will be the best for students and ASUN.
