Robert Smith

Senator for College of Engineering

Robert Smith is a second-year student majoring in Computer Science & Engineering and minoring in Business Administration and Math. He is the current Director of Programming for the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Treasurer for UNR Film Club, and was a previous ASUN Legislative Affairs intern (2020-21). He wishes to get into the software engineering industry after graduating.

Robert has been observant of the College of Engineering and has made note of the changes necessary to better support its students. As a senator, Robert plans to expand early career opportunities for engineering students with a particular emphasis on improving prospects for computer science students who have been underrepresented in career fairs in comparison to the more traditional engineering students. Aside from that, Robert plans to contribute to the ideas and processes which make UNR a more inclusive, safe, and engaging place for students to grow into prosperous professionals. Additionally, Robert intends to promote more affordable housing—and other expenses—for students.
