About ASUN Elections #VoteASUN2020
The Associated Students of the University of Nevada, Reno (ASUN) is made up of every undergraduate student at the University of Nevada, Reno and provides a vehicle, through elected officials, to voice student concerns. ASUN collects $5 per credit hour from undergraduate students. Each year the budget is proposed by the ASUN President and then approved by the ASUN senate. ASUN funds various programming efforts, clubs, student media, services, and scholarships.

THE ASUN Student Government is comprised of three branches:
Judicial, Executive, and Legislative. Elected and appointed undergraduate students fill all positions. Elections are held each March for elected positions and appointments are made on an on-going basis throughout the year.

Voting Dates
1) Primary Elections (President Only): March 4 and 5
2) General Elections (President, Vice President & Senate): March 11 and 12

1. Sign in to WebCampus using your NetID
2. On your courses tab select ASUN Election – name of your college
3. Click on ASUN Election (name of your college)
4. Once in course, click in the top left-hand corner link called ELECTIONS 2020
5. An instruction window will appear, click on the BEGIN button to VOTE
6. Once you have selected your choices, submit

Notice for Double Majors 
If you are a Nevada student double majoring in separate colleges or schools and the Ballot Name does not match your desired college or School you wish to vote in, please DO NOT fill in this ballot on WebCampus. You may only vote in one college or school that you are majoring in. You can proceed to the physical location to cast your vote.

**Casting a ballot on WebCampus and at the physical location is a violation of the Nevada Student Code of Conduct and further judicial actions will be taken.**

Meet Your Candidates

The Role of the ASUN President
The ASUN President in the executive power of the Association of the University of Nevada, Reno. The President nominates and appoints justices of the Judicial Council and all other officers of the Associated Students. The President submits a proposed budget to the Senate. The President attends meetings of the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents and makes all appointments to University Committees.

The Role of the ASUN Vice President
The ASUN Vice President is a member of the executive cabinet and is charged with fulfilling those duties assigned by the President of the Senate of the Associated Students. The Vice President assists the President in preparing and maintaining an operating budget for ASUN and acts as a liaison between the Senate and the Executive Branch. Also, the Vice President acts as a liaison between the Senate and the ASUN funded student publications and oversees and coordinates the Pack Mentorship Program.

The Role of ASUN Senators
The ASUN Senate is the official voice of the undergraduate students on decisions regarding campus policies, programming, and money spent by the student government on student support services. The senate consists of 25 senators elected from each of the academic schools and colleges. An ASUN Senator, elected by peers in the college, serves a broad set of functions within the Associations. However, the primary role of the Senator is that of a legislator, amending and generating bills and resolutions which best reflect the needs and voices of the students during his or her term as Senator. The Senator is in the prime positions to communicate between students and the heads of colleges.

Ballot Questions
All changes to the ASUN Constitution require the vote of the student body.  These two ballot questions will appear on your ballot March 11 & 12 for you to vote on.

1. “Shall the Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) replace all gender pronouns (ex: he, she, they, etc.) in the Constitution of the ASUN with position title (ex: director, senator, commissioner, etc.) in order to be more inclusive to all students on the University of Nevada, Reno campus?”
2. “Shall the minimum cumulative grade point average qualification to hold office be changed in the ASUN Constitution to require all members of the government of the association, at the time of their election or appointment and throughout their term, to maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average instead of a 2.75 cumulative grade point average.”
