The Three Ways to Vote:

Option 1: Drop your ballot with USPS

– Fill out your “vote by mail” ballot & secure the ballot in the provided pre-paid return envelope.
– Place your “vote by mail” ballot into your mailbox at your house or drop off at the nearest post office.
– Your ballot must be post marked no later than Election Day. (Nov. 3rd, 2020).

How to fill out your Vote by Mail Ballot
– Use Black or Blue Ink
– Fill in the oval completely to mark your choice
– You may choose to vote on some candidates or questions and not others. Your ballot will be counted for those you vote for.
– Make a mistake? Simply cross out the name of the candidate or question you do not wish to vote for. Make sure the oval is filled in for the one you want.

How to prepare your Vote by Mail Ballot for the mail or drop off after you have filled it out
– Detach and keep the ballot stub
– Fold your ballot along the pre-scored folds
– Insert ballot into the Secrecy Sleeve. The end of your ballot will stick out of the side, that is ok
– Place Secrecy Sleeve (with ballot) in the return envelope
– You MUST SIGN the return envelope in the Signature Box under the flap.
– Moisten the folded flap and seal

Option 2: Place your ballot in a secure drop box

– Fill out your “vote by mail” ballot & secure the ballot in the provided return envelope.
– Ballot will be scanned by poll worker before going into a secure box
– Visit a “vote by mail” drop off location in Washoe County
– Lawlor Events Center will have a drop off location for early voting
– Check wait times at “Wait Time” app
– Track your vote by mail ballot at BallotTrax

Option 3: Cast your Vote in person or drop off your “Vote by Mail” ballot at a staffed Polling location

– Bring your vote by mail ballot to the polling location.
– If you don’t surrender your vote by mail ballot you will be asked to sign an affirmation swearing you will not vote twice.
– Bring your sample ballot & your own writing pen
– Wear a face covering & prepare for longer lines
– Election workers will be sanitizing after each voter
– Check wait times at “Wait Time” app
**Once your ballot is in the mail or dropped off, you cannot vote on a Voting Tablet at a polling location

Want to Register in Nevada, and Have a NV ID?

Yes — You can register online at the link in our bio!
You will need your ID number and the last 4 of your social security number. You can also register at an early polling location or on Election Day, Bring your ID and proof of residency.

Yes — But my current address doesn’t match by Nevada IDs.
You will need to register on a paper registration form by October 6, 2020. You can complete this form at the Washoe County Registrar Office at 1001 E. 9th Street, Building A in Reno or at the ASUN Center for Student Engagement office on the 3rd Floor of the Joe at the University of Nevada, Reno

Do you live in the Residence Halls at the University?

Yes — You will use your Residence Hall address as your Home/Physical Address but use the Center for Student Engagement as your mailing address. This is only for Voter Registration. You can see the full list of addresses online at

No — Use your current address as your physical and mailing address.
