Bio and Platform: Elijah Houghtelling is a dedicated advocate for student health, accessibility, and campus well-being. As a Senator for the School of Public Health, he is committed to ensuring that all students have access to essential resources, including healthcare, housing, and food security. His platform focuses on improving both mental and physical health services, expanding access to affordable healthcare, and increasing awareness of existing campus support programs.
Elijah is actively working on initiatives that enhance student safety and preparedness, such as recommending Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for club recognition. Additionally, he is involved in legislative efforts to improve funding for health and wellness programs and strengthen student engagement in policymaking. He believes in fostering a campus environment where all students feel supported and empowered to succeed.
Beyond his legislative work, Elijah is dedicated to community outreach, including organizing donation drives for those affected by emergencies like the Davis Fire. His experience mentoring legislative interns and advocating for stronger campus policies demonstrates his commitment to student leadership and advocacy.
