Bio and Platform: Viviana Castro is a first generation, latina student, and UNR Mock Trial member studying international affairs and political science on the pre-law track and running to be your college of liberal arts representative.

Rather than use flowery language or give lofty promises- Viviana Castro has only one promise, to offer true and honest representation. For too long, the offices of ASUN have felt isolated and out of reach for the average UNR student. For both working and non-working students, the time needed to step into ASUN and make one’s voice heard has rendered the ASUN inaccessible, denying students representation. If elected, Viviana will bridge this gap by being the first to step forward and seek out her constituents, employing long public “office hours”, easily accessible communication, and numerous tabling/outreach events to personally engage with clubs and organizations who are otherwise unreached. Good representation steps forward for YOU, and Viviana will do just that.

Additionally- Viviana will serve to protect the pockets of UNR’s students. Viviana deeply understands the struggles and concerns of low and middle income students, regarding fees and funding. Viviana started working the day she turned 14, and if elected, will continue to work for you. By advocating for the improvement of pack provisions to better reflect the needs and wants of the students who rely on it.

Finally, Viviana has and will continue to draft legislation for the improvement of campus safety and accessibility, working with the DRC to ensure success in education for ALL students.
