Bio and Platform: Dominic Evans is a sophomore studying Chemistry and Political Science at the University of Nevada, Reno. He is a current ASUN Senator of the 93rd session and is seeking to continue the work he has been doing.

Current Plans/Initiatives:
Currently, Senator Evans and the other College of Science senators have been working on a Lab Coat Donation Program, which involves collecting used lab coats, having them cleaned, and distributing them to new students enrolled in chemistry and biology laboratory courses. This program will be developed into a piece of legislation, and will hopefully be seen by the Senate later in the session. Another initiative he has been working on is establishing a stronger relationship between ASUN, the College of Science, and Environmental Health & Safety. By developing these relationships, projects such as the Lab Coat Donation Program have been made possible and will allow for additional projects to be developed in the future.

Future Plans/Goals:
Senator Evans plans to collaborate with other senators to organize student events using the ASUN Senate Outreach Budget. These events will be similar to other ASUN-hosted events and may include student music, food and drinks, decorative activities, and other forms of student engagement. The events will focus on outreach and be based on student input regarding what types of events they would like to see. Another future goal is to help increase food access for students. Senator Evans plans to utilize ASUN and Pack Provisions’ partnership to help establish a food delivery program aimed at reaching as many students as possible.

Lastly, an important part of his platform is remaining open to the ideas and opinions of all College of Science and University of Nevada, Reno students. ASUN and UNR are constantly evolving, and by gathering student feedback through polls and outreach, Senator Evans will be able to fulfill the duties of Senate to the best of his abilities.

Fun Fact: Senator Evans and Senate Candidate Phoenix Evans are brothers.
