Bio and Platform: Jacob Rivers is a sophomore majoring in Kinesiology at the University of Nevada, Reno. He is very passionate about enhancing the student experience and campus pride. As a second generation Wolf Pack student, Jacob knows that having a strong university culture means that students need to feel supported, represented, and connected to their university and its traditions.
Jacob's goals include enhancing students overall well-being, opportunity, and campus pride. Firstly, Jacob believes in enhancing students' access to physical and mental health services provided by the school. Secondly, Jacob believes that students need to know what is being provided to them because a student's success is directly related to their physical and mental well-being. Therefore, he believes that it is a necessity for students to have access to these resources.
Another one of Jacob's goals is enhancing student learning by increasing applied experiences. Jacob believes that students will benefit most by learning in a way that combines academics with applied experiences. Therefore, Jacob wants to advocate for increased internship opportunities that will better help students when they graduate.
