Brushfire Submissions

The Brushfire Literature & Arts Journal is looking for submissions for the first volume of their 70th Edition for Fall 2018. The cut-off date for submissions to be considered for the Fall edition is October 14. However, year-round submissions are accepted. If you wish to participate, you can submit online through Brushfire’s website.

You are encouraged to submit visual art, poetry or prose, or multilingual work, however Brushfire accepts all forms of printable art. Multiple submissions from the same artist are allowed, but all work must be original and unpublished.

Brushfire is an excellent opportunity to have your work published and get your art out there. If your work is selected you will get the chance to have your creation published in a nationally recognized publication that has been nominated by the Organizational Pinnacle Awards for best Four-Year Literary Magazine of the Year for 2016-2017.

Brushfire is a student-run publication funded by ASUN at the University of Nevada, Reno that publishes biannually. It exists solely to showcase content provided by the contributors and would not exist without your submissions. If you would like to see past contributors, you can view previous editions on their website.

The Brushfire Literature & Arts Journal strives to represent diversity and originality. Additionally, Brushfire would like to encourage the creativity of the University of Nevada, Reno’s students. Brushfire’s main priority is to establish relationships and connections with the art community at the University of Nevada, Reno, the city of Reno and around the world.
