Aaliyah Reed

Position: College of Science (4 Senate Seats)
Email: Liareed777@gmail.com
Academic College: College of Science, School of Medicine
Expected Date of Graduation: 05/14/2027
Bio and Platform: Aaliyah Reed is a first year Pre-Med Chemistry major at UNR. Studying medicine is a major passion of hers. She is applying for College of Science Senator in ASUN because she strongly believes in her ability to both lead her constituents and implement beneficial change around campus.

She’s been involved with the legislative branch during the internship in ASUN and is currently the ManJun President/Vice President of RHA Leadership Council. She advocates for her ManJun residents during events like the Town Hall Meeting where she voiced student concerns. She’s working on legislation that brings awareness to food insecurity and increases student funding.

With everything that Aaliyah does, she wants to focus on striving for ‘awareness’ the most. This is because she knows that before any significant change can occur, the existence of the problem needs to be addressed first. Because of past struggles, Aaliyah is centering my candidacy on improving the mental health of her fellow students, supporting students from all backgrounds (i.e financially and opportunity-based), and overall making campus more accessible to everyone.

She will be transparent about legislation she pursues, and will only make decisions after all possibilities are fully evaluated. Aaliyah not only wants all of your voices to be heard, but she wants them to be taken into account and fully appreciated by everyone on campus, so that everyone is represented.

For everyone in the College of Science, and for every student on campus; She sees you, she hears you, and she understands you.
