Bio and Platform: Angelo Giammona Wilber is a freshman majoring in International Business, running to serve as a Senator for the College of Business. Born and raised in Reno, Angelo has been bleeding silver and blue his whole life. With commitments to transparency and a deep love for Nevada, Angelo knows that the ASUN senate is the right place for him.
Throughout his first semester at The University of Nevada, Angelo has served as an intern for the ASUN Department of Government Affairs, learning the inner workings of ASUN and how to be a productive member of the association.
Angelo has plenty of experience in service and legislation, serving as the Secretary/Treasurer of his class at McQueen High School for 4-years, as well as being a 4-year member of his high school debate team. Throughout these experiences he properly learned how to be a professional representative of a student body.
Angelo is running with a focus on three pillars:
Expanding Student Opportunities-
Angelo is committed to making sure all students have the opportunities to get involved with the College of Business, as well as prepare themselves for their futures. He is committed to working with local businesses to expand opportunities for students to get first hand experience in business.
Keeping Students Informed-
Angelo believes that the core focus of the ASUN senate should be the students the senators are representing. Committed to making sure students can have their voices heard, Angelo has pledged to make time every week to sit down and talk with College of Business students in the John Tulloch Business Building. Additionally, he has pledged to post weekly updates on what has happened at each senate meeting.
Rebuilding Trust-
Angelo has seen the backlash ASUN receives and recognizes that the students must have confidence in ASUN for it to be productive. He is focused on rebuilding trust with students to make sure that they are properly represented, have their voices heard, and can trust the association that represents them.
Angelo is running to bring a new voice to the Senate and to ensure students are properly represented. Your Voice. Your View. Vote GW.
