Bio and Platform: Brian Price is a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Nevada, Reno who is focused on food security, affordability, and student support. Coming from a working class immigrant family, Brian understands how financial stress and lack of access to basic needs can affect students both inside and outside the classroom. These experiences have shaped a strong commitment to helping low income and underserved students succeed.
Brian is currently working closely with campus food insecurity efforts and has seen how many students struggle to consistently access meals and basic resources. Improving food access and reducing barriers to support services are central priorities of Brian’s platform. Brian believes students should not have to choose between their education and their basic needs.
As an engineering student, Brian is interested in practical, hands on solutions. Part of the platform includes exploring campus gardening and hydroponics projects that could help support food resources while also giving engineering and science students opportunities to get involved outside the classroom. These projects would combine sustainability, learning, and direct student benefit.
As an ASUN Senator, Brian aims to support food security programs, advocate for low income students, and promote new engineering initiatives.
