Carla is now pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health with the goal of being accepted into a Master's of Physician Assistant Studies Program.

Carla's campaign is all about educating first-generation students and all students about the incredible opportunities that come with a public health education. Carla wants to provide resources that will support students on their pre-healthcare journey during their time at The University of Nevada, Reno. Creating an environment that offers education and resources for all students in the College of Public Health is Carla's main focus. Carla will work forward to eliminate any barriers faced when accessing education and educational resources.

These resources can include local volunteer opportunities, shadowing and internship programs, job opportunities, and scholarships. Another goal is to provide students access and opportunity to seek guidance for their mental health during their undergraduate years. Carla understands the importance of diversity and wants to acknowledge the different backgrounds and challenges that we all face in pursuit of our education by celebrating all students and embracing all cultures. That's why Carla's campaign slogan is "si se puede," a saying that resonates with Carla as a Latina and represents the belief that anything is possible.

Carla's dedication to empowering students and promoting diversity is truly inspiring. With Carla's leadership, the College of Public Health will become a thriving community that supports every student's journey towards a successful career in healthcare. ¡Si se puede, Carla!
