Bio and Platform: Liesel Kemmelmeier was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. She is a junior studying Social Research Analytics, Political Science, and International Affairs, with minors in Political Communication & Advocacy and Holocaust, Genocide, & Peace Studies. She currently serves as Assistant Director of Government Affairs for ASUN, where she works to further nonpartisan student interests. Liesel also serves as the Vice President of the Nevada Blue Key Honor Society as well as the Co-Chair of Leadership Development and a campus tour guide for the Nevada Student Ambassadors. She plays oboe in the School of Music and previously worked in Residential Life and NevadaFIT. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a Master’s in Public Administration and Policy to advocate for Nevadan communities and develop equitable government initiatives.

Alongside Presidential Candidate Dawson Deal, the Impact Nevada platform is dedicated to enhancing the University of Nevada student experience. Focused on career readiness, accountability, student belonging, diversity, and inclusion, the campaign strives to bring positive, tangible transformations to the community. Impact Nevada will create a lasting legacy in the experiences of University of Nevada students, fostering a supportive and accessible student government through proactive leadership and transparent initiatives that represent the comprehensive concerns of the student body. With an emphasis on open communication with meaningful student outreach, Impact Nevada is a commitment to taking charge, making a difference, and holding leaders accountable.
