Bio and Platform: My name is Victor Pantaleoni and I’m running for UNR’s Honors College first time ever, Senate seat. In the 60 + year history of The Honors College, a student senator seat representing our college in the upcoming Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) elections is making itself available to the Honors College here in 2024
I am currently a Junior majoring in Criminal Justice and Political Science. Last spring semester 2023, down in Carson City at the Nevada Legislature, I gained valuable experience as I Interned for a Nevada State Senator during the 82nd Nevada State Legislative session. I also have been involved in a past local Mayorial campaign, twice, on two successful re-elections in California’s Bay Area. I have the experience, knowledge, and leadership skills to act as the liaison between the Honors College and the governance process here at our Tier 1 University - UNR.
My goal is to take this momentous occasion that is the result of efforts that began back in 2020 to represent the Honor’s College Program and advocate for the promotion of raising awareness and profile of the Honors College, to tell the story, to work with donor support, and lead the Honors College to gain the resources it needs moving forward in its next five year year strategic plan.
In addition, to represent the Honors College through the ASUN government, I want to place the up-most highest priority in representing all the students whom are enrolled in the college to show that they have a voice through not only the Honors College Student Council, but also now more so the University at large.
