College of Business’ 3rd International Women’s Entrepreneurship Symposium (IWES)

The University of Nevada, Reno’s College of Business is hosting its third International Women’s Entrepreneurship Symposium (IWES) on Monday, March 8 from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
200 scholarships are available for University of Nevada, Reno students to attend the event for free. Standard tickets are available to the public.

IWES provides learning and networking opportunities for students in any discipline who would like to build their entrepreneurial skills. The event includes social media marketing workshops and eight industry-focused breakout sessions with leaders in the following industries: Entertainment, Fashion & Beauty, FinTech, Food & Beverage, Healthcare, Social Entrepreneurship, Travel & Tourism and Women in Tech.
The event includes over 40 speakers from countries across five continents around the world. Below are a few to name:

– Beatriz Acevedo: Co-founder of LA Collab and founder of SUMA Wealth, Beatriz Acevedo is one of the leading Latina entrepreneurs in the US. In addition, Acevedo is a tech media entrepreneur as Co-Founder and President of mitu, serves on the 2028 LA Olympic Committee and has earned three Emmy’s.

– Charlene Li: Named as one of the most creative people in business by Fast Company, Charlene Li is an author of a New York Times best-seller Open Leadership and a critically acclaimed book, Groundswell and The Disruption Mindset. Li also founded Altimeter Group, an analyst firm, and is an expert in digital transformation.

– Nancy Duarte: Communications expert Nancy Duarte worked with Al Gore to develop the storytelling behind An Inconvenient Truth. Li was also featured in Forbes, Fortune, Time Magazine, Fast Company, Wired, Wallstreet Journal, New York TImes, Cosmopolitan, LA Times and CNN.

– Angela Lee: is the founder of 37Angels, an investment firm, and is Chief Innovation Officer at Columbia Business School.
