Government Affairs
The ASUN Department of Government Affairs is dedicated to educating, empowering and encouraging students to get involved in University, Local, State, National, and Global issues.
ASUN Issues and Priorities Needs Assessment 2023
To determine the student body’s concerns and lobby externally on their behalf, the Department of Government Affairs conducted a campus-wide survey on undergraduates in Fall 2023. In collaboration with the Office of Student Persistence Research, the survey was sent to 1 in every 4 undergraduates and received approximately 800 responses. For a breakdown of the data, click here.
ASUN Civically Engaged Nevada Initiative Fund:
The Civically Engaged Nevada Initiative Fund (CENIF) is a grant program funded by ASUN for undergraduate students or organizations. This program exists to elevate the ideas of undergraduate students from all academic disciplines and departments who are invited to propose projects that enhance the civic engagement of our campus and community. The grant program also exists to serve as a learning opportunity for undergraduate students: students who have never applied for a grant before are invited to engage with the application process and will come away with a new skill they can take with them past their undergraduate studies and careers. CENIF awards grants to projects that have the highest potential for Civic Engagement impact and success.
