Spring 2022
Every semester, there are numerous students who work hard to uphold the University of Nevada, Reno as a site of learning, discovery, and engagement. It’s important we celebrate students for their achievements during their time in higher education. These two outstanding undergraduate seniors have accomplished great things at this university and will continue to do so throughout their careers. Take time in congratulating them on this honor.
Angela Faith Herrera
Angela Faith is completing a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology degree in CABNR this May. During her senior year, Angela served as the chapter president for Alpha Phi Omega, Joy Prom Coordinator in Blue Key Honor Society, a NevadaFIT mentor, and a dissection assistant for anatomy. While at the University, she was also involved in WiSE her freshman year, Nevada Student Ambassadors, Phi Delta Epsilon, and tutored students in math and chemistry. Angela is a member of Dr. Perrino’s research lab in the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology. After graduation, she plans on applying to medical school.
Rachael Roach
Rachael will be graduating this May with a Neuroscience degree. At this university, Rachael spent countless hours serving others through her dedication as American Medical Student Association President, her mentorship in the Honors College, and her research on the brain’s perception of objects. Her passion to serve others is matched by her drive to excel in all that she does. Rachael received the Most Outstanding Mentor award and she was granted the competitive Nevada Undergraduate Research Award, where she’s made her mark on the realm of science. After graduation, she plans to pursue a life of service in dentistry.
