Welcome Week 2022

Posted on Wednesday, August 24, 2022

Hey, Wolf Pack!

We are so excited to have you for Fall 2022! To celebrate new and returning members of the pack, we’ve got loads of things planned for Welcome Week to prepare for this semester! We hope to see you all at these events where you can meet new friends, get free food and college swag, and get acquainted with our university!

If you require a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this event please email admarketing@asun.unr.edu at least 3 business days before the event.

Paint The N

Painting the N is a University of Nevada, Reno tradition that has endured for over a century now. Having you participate in keeping this landmark pearly white would be a wonderful way to show your Nevada pride. It’s a great hike as well!

Participants will meet at the Reno Sports Complex near Rancho San Rafael Park at 4 p.m. on August 28th, 2022. Students who need a ride can meet in front of the Lawlor Events Center at 4 p.m.. Supplies for painting will be provided. Bring sunscreen, water, and close toed shoes suitable for hiking. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on or dirty! There will be loose gravel and steep inclines on the trek up to the N. Fill out the online waiver.

Free trucker hats will be provided to the first 100 attendees!

Taste of Reno

Reno is home to countless restaurants serving delicious and diverse cuisines as well as local non-profits. This event will introduce students to some of our favorite places around town right in the heart of campus. Better yet, it’s free!

Taste of Reno will be held at the lawn in front of the Knowledge Center (KC) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on August 29th, 2022. Food vendors will include Num Num Boba, Pub N’ Sub, My Favorite Muffin, The Roost, and Sugar Pie. Non-Profit tables will be around the KC for you to visit and find places to volunteer in the local community.

Undie Run

Come run with your pack in the 2022 Undie Run! This is another University of Reno, Nevada tradition in which participants will charge across campus in their underwear for a charitable cause. It’s not very often you get a chance to do that!

On August 30th, 2022, participants will meet at The Quad at 7 p.m. for the warm-up. The run will begin at 7:30 p.m. DJ Noah Klein will be performing on The Quad for the length of the event. Bring clean clothing, toiletries, and feminine hygiene products to donate to the local Eddy House.

Participants have the option to either show up in their underwear or wear the clothes they want to donate and remove it at the event.

The top three winners will receive a free ticket to the Welcome Week 2022 Concert! The top fifty will receive a medal!
